Marques Lewis was born in Newark, New Jersey and raised in Irvington, New Jersey until the age of 12. His parents Dora and James Lewis are out of Lincolnton and Shellman, Georgia. Marques and his family moved from Irvington, New Jersey in 1997 to Leesburg, Georgia. He attended Lee County High School and graduated from Darsey Private High School in 2003 with 3.0 G.P.A. Marques began writing at the age of 7 years old. He wrote his first short story Detective David: "The Missing Toy Boat." After taking a 15 year hiatus, Marques began writing again after discovering the author Zane and her writings. From then his imagination took off. At 22 years old Marques began writing plenty of short stories, poems and encouraging women self-esteem on social network sites. After gaining confidence he began performing his poems at Chill Bar & Lounge at Open Mic Night. The crowd loved him, and he began performing every Wednesday. Later on Marques decided that he should give writing novels a shot to see what people reaction would be.
In Dec. 10, 2010 and April 6, 2012 Marques appeared in publication short poetry book, "The Poetic Lounge Vol. 2 and 3", his poems "Weak" and "I Am A Woman" was selected. Marques has written many novels some published and some he is working on: "It's Love For Her", "Dating Jordan", "Words of Wetness", "May Your Heart Be Encouraged" with Fiordaliza Charles, "Married But Still Single And Lonely", "Good Men Still Exist" with Author Jamila Gomez, "The Man Next Door" and his new book releases in April 2014 "The Road to the Perfect Guy". He is writing a play based off of his novel "Married But Still Single And Lonely" and 'It's Love For Her" movie which subjects to start shooting in the near future. Marques won 2013 "Best Selling Award" and were a runner-up for "Author of the Year" at One Karma Publishing Banquet in Alpharetta, Georgia.
